Mappamodello is a catalogue by designer Nanni Strada, featuring designs conceived in 1974 for the competition, Arab-Islamic National Dress, which subsequently became a classic collection produced and distributed by Milanese shop Oriente e Cina.This publication includes a series of pieces informed by Eastern clothing and working attire, combined with Strada's own personal vision of highly structured, geometric clothing which envelopes the body, independent from anatomical measurements and tailoring. Depicted via photographs, illustration and pattern design, Mappamodello is a blueprint of these historic clothes, all contained on a singular pattern. Rodeo Drive, 1984 is a book depicting a series of 41 photographs of shoppers on Beverly Hills' infamous Rodeo Drive shopping strip. American artist Anthony Hernandez uses these photographs to explore human agency, social relationships and taboos such as economic disparity and racial divide in the social landscape of LA during the 1980s. Whilst working in the 1970s, Hernandez participated in the landmark exhibition The Crowded Vacancy at the Pasadena Art Museum (1971), which, quire pivotally, introduced a new type of American landscape photography to the wider populace.
